Nguyễn Lâm Thảo Thi writes at the intersection of history and media studies. Their current research traces the historical trajectories of typing in Vietnam and how tiếng Việt (the Vietnamese language, as inscriptions & as tongues) co-evolved within these terrains. Thi has worked as a staff writer for Saigoneer, where they wrote about food/material objects and their relationship to larger power systems. Their translations have appeared in Modern Poetry in Translation, diaCRITICS (the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network), Asian American Writers’ Workshop and collections published by Penguin Random House Southeast Asia, among other venues.

Thi was born and raised in Saigon, and writes poetry to ingest time.
